Holy Soul's is a Roman Catholic School that strives to be a positive force in the life of the Church, by introducing its pupils into a living tradition of Faith and maintaining the highest ideals within the country's education system. In serving The Parishes of Holy Souls and Good Shepherd, the school is a witness to the Church and is to be seen as a servant of the North East of Blackburn and part of the Ribble Valley. It encourages and sustains the Christian experience and insights, as the secular values impact themselves on the children. Its ultimate concern is to assist all those involved with the school in their journey to full worship of God. |
Holy Souls Primary School is smaller than average. There are 175 pupils on role with an even number of boys and girls. The number of pupils attending is increasing and sadly the Governors for the September 2000 intake have had to refuse places to 7 children.
The School serves the North East Side of Blackburn and part of the Ribble Valley. It is a stable, relatively advantaged community. There are low levels of unemployment.
The School caters for 10 pupils on the Special Needs Register and has a good reputation in this area of education. When pupils enter the School their attainment is above average especially in language development, although the full ability range is represented. |
